4. Consumer and Business Customers
-
These Terms apply to both Consumer and Business Customers, with the following differences:
-
Consumer Customers benefit from additional statutory protections under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, and other applicable UK consumer law. Nothing in these Terms affects those statutory rights.
-
Business Customers purchasing in the course of a business agree that the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Consumer Contracts Regulations do not apply to their purchases, except where expressly stated. Business Customers take on greater responsibility for satisfying themselves as to the suitability of Products before purchase.
-
If you are unsure whether you qualify as a Consumer or Business Customer, please contact us before placing your order.
5. How a Contract Is Formed
-
Our website displays Products for sale as an invitation to treat, not a binding offer. A legally binding Contract is formed only when we send you an order confirmation email.
-
The process is as follows:
-
You select Products and proceed to checkout
-
You submit your order by clicking the order/payment confirmation button
-
We send you an order acknowledgement — this confirms receipt but does not constitute acceptance
-
We send you an order confirmation email — this is our acceptance and the point at which the Contract is formed
-
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion, including where a Product is out of stock, incorrectly priced, or where we suspect fraud. If we cancel an order after payment, we will issue a full refund promptly.
6. Products and Descriptions
-
We take reasonable care to ensure that all Product descriptions, images, and prices on our Site are accurate. However:
-
Images are for illustrative purposes only. Colours and dimensions may vary slightly due to screen settings and manufacturing tolerances
-
We reserve the right to correct any errors or inaccuracies on our Site at any time, including after an order has been placed
-
Product specifications may change without notice, provided they remain materially equivalent
-
If a Product you receive differs materially from its description, you may be entitled to a refund or replacement under Section 10 and applicable consumer law.
7. Pricing and Payment
-
All prices are displayed on our Site and are inclusive of UK VAT where applicable. Delivery charges are shown separately at checkout.
-
Prices are subject to change without notice, but changes will not affect orders already confirmed.
-
We accept payment by the methods shown at checkout. Payment is taken at the time of ordering. All transactions are processed securely via Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details.
-
For international orders, you are responsible for any import duties, customs charges, or local taxes that may apply in your destination country. We are not responsible for these charges and cannot predict their amount.
8. Shipping and Delivery
-
We ship from the United Kingdom. Delivery options, timescales, and charges are displayed at checkout.
-
Delivery dates given at checkout are estimates only and are not guaranteed. We are not liable for delays caused by couriers, customs, or circumstances outside our control.
-
Risk in the Products passes to you on delivery. For Consumer Customers, title in the Products also passes on delivery and full payment. For Business Customers, title passes only on receipt of full payment.
-
If a delivery is attempted and you are not available, the courier will leave instructions for redelivery or collection. If a parcel is returned to us due to a failed delivery, we may charge redelivery costs.
-
For international orders (EU/EEA, USA, Canada), delivery timescales may be longer and are subject to customs clearance processes outside our control. You are responsible for ensuring the Products can be legally imported into your country.
9. International Orders — Customs and Import
-
We ship internationally to the EU/EEA, USA, and Canada. Please note:
-
You are the importer of record and are responsible for complying with all laws and regulations in your destination country
-
Import duties, taxes, and customs clearance fees may be charged by your local customs authority. These are not included in our prices and are your responsibility to pay
-
We are not responsible for delays caused by customs procedures
-
For EU orders, we comply with applicable EU consumer law where required, but our primary legal framework is UK law
-
If you are unsure about import restrictions or duties in your country, we recommend checking with your local customs authority before ordering.
10. Cancellation Rights (Consumer Customers Only)
-
If you are a Consumer, you have the right to cancel your order under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
-
You may cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your Products (the "cooling-off period") without giving any reason, subject to the exceptions below.
-
To exercise your right to cancel, you must notify us clearly before the 14-day period expires, by email to:
-
You must then return the Products to us within 14 days of notifying us of cancellation. Return postage costs are your responsibility unless the Product is faulty or misdescribed.
-
We will issue a full refund (including standard delivery costs) within 14 days of receiving the returned Products, or within 14 days of you providing proof of return — whichever is earlier. Refunds will be made to your original payment method.
-
The right to cancel does not apply to:
-
Custom or personalised Products made to your specification
-
Products that have been used, damaged, or are not in their original condition and packaging
-
Products with seals broken where this is not appropriate for return for hygiene reasons (if applicable)
-
Business Customers do not have a statutory right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations.
11. Returns and Refunds
-
In addition to your statutory cancellation rights (Section 10), we accept returns in the following circumstances:
-
a) Faulty or misdescribed Products
-
If your Product is faulty, damaged on arrival, or does not match its description, please contact us within 30 days of delivery. We will offer a full refund, replacement, or repair at our discretion, in line with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (for Consumers) and the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (for Business Customers).
-
b) Change of mind returns
-
For Customers, change of mind returns are covered by the statutory 14-day cancellation right set out in Section 10. The conditions in Section 10 apply.
-
We also extend a change of mind returns option to Business Customers, who do not have a statutory cancellation right, within 14 days of delivery, subject to the following conditions:
-
The Product must be unused and in its original, undamaged packaging
-
Custom or personalised items cannot be returned under this policy
-
You are responsible for the cost of return postage
-
Refunds will be processed within 14 days of us receiving the returned item
-
c) How to return
-
To initiate a return, please contact us at:
-
or
-
Please include your order number and reason for return. We will provide return instructions. We recommend using a tracked delivery service, as we cannot be responsible for items lost in return transit.
12. Our 5-Year Warranty
-
Every CRU product is covered by a 5-year warranty as standard. This reflects our confidence in the materials and construction of our kit.
-
What is covered
-
The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of 5 years from the date of delivery. If a Product fails due to a manufacturing or material defect within this period, we will repair it, or where repair is not possible, replace it, at no cost to you.
-
The warranty does not cover:
-
Normal wear consistent with the age and use of the Product
-
Damage caused by misuse, accident, neglect, or modification
-
Damage caused by use beyond the Product's intended purpose
-
Cosmetic wear that does not affect function
-
Our repair service
-
Many items that fall outside warranty can still be repaired through our repair service. Whether or not your Product is in warranty, contact us at info@crukit.co.uk and we will tell you what we can do. We would rather repair a piece of kit than see it replaced.
-
How to make a claim
-
To make a warranty claim, contact us at info@crukit.co.uk with your order number and a description of the issue, including photographs where possible. We will guide you through the process.
-
This warranty is offered in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable law.
13. Our Liability
-
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:
-
Death or personal injury caused by our negligence
-
Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
-
Any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015
-
a) Consumers
-
Subject to the above, our total liability to Consumer Customers in connection with any Contract shall not exceed the price paid for the Products in question.
-
b) Business Customers
-
Subject to the above, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:
-
We exclude all implied terms, warranties, and conditions relating to the Products
-
We are not liable for any loss of profits, loss of business, loss of revenue, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss
-
Our total liability to Business Customers under or in connection with any Contract shall not exceed the price paid for the relevant Products
-
While CRU selects materials and components that are individually rated for properties such as water resistance, load bearing, and abrasion resistance, the performance of a finished product depends on its construction, use, and the demands placed on it. Unless a specific rating or capability is expressly stated in a Product's description, our Products are not represented as waterproof, weight-rated, load-certified, or fit for any specialised or safety-critical purpose. Our Products are general utility kit for carrying tools and equipment, and should not be used for life-supporting, load-bearing safety, or any application requiring a certified rating.
14. Intellectual Property

-
Please notify us immediately if you suspect your account has been compromised. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that are being misused or where we suspect fraudulent activity.
16. Events Outside Our Control (Force Majeure)
-
We will not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under a Contract where that failure or delay results from events outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, pandemics, strikes, government restrictions, courier failures, or disruption to suppliers.
-
If such an event affects our ability to fulfil your order, we will contact you as soon as possible. If the delay is likely to be substantial, you may cancel your order for a full refund.
17. Complaints
-
We are committed to resolving complaints fairly and promptly. If you have a complaint about a Product or our service, please contact us in the first instance at:
-
or
-
We aim to acknowledge complaints within 2 business days and resolve them within 14 days.
-
If you are a Consumer and we are unable to resolve your complaint, you may be entitled to use an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) scheme. We will provide details of an appropriate ADR provider if we are unable to resolve your complaint directly.
-
EU and EEA Consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
18. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
-
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
-
For Consumer Customers: Any disputes shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. This does not affect your right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence if you are based in the EU, EEA, or elsewhere, where applicable law provides for this.
-
For Business Customers: Both parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
